Bye bye chapped lips!

Happy Tuesday! I was applying my favorite matte lipstick and quickly realized that my flaky chapped lips were ruining the entire look. Usually I pick a glossier shade which conceals and moisturizes, but I've been extremely into drier, bold colors lately and I just cannot hide these chapped and rugged lips anymore. I usually whip up a batch of this fresh lip scrub around the winter and spring months to use in the shower or before I brush my teeth. It's super easy to make and will leave your pout super silky soft!

You will need..

  • Granulated sugar (brown sugar works fine too)
  • Honey
  • Coconut oil

I snagged a small sample pot from Lush to keep my scrub in. It's the perfect size and you can re-use it for tons of things!

I took about 2 teaspoons of sugar, a pea sized amount of coconut oil, and a few drops of honey and mixed it all together until the sugar was barely wetted with the oil and honey. I prefer a drier, grainier scrub, but you can always add more or less of any of these ingredients to get it how you like! Once you're all done mixing, place a pea sized amount on your lips and gently buff them in a circular motion. When mine are REALLY bad, I follow up gently with a soft, clean toothbrush and apply chapstick directly after. Wah-lah! You have yourself some soft and shiny kissers.

Feel free to apply all those dark, matte, or super light shades now at no expense! The world is your oyster.
