My Favorite Fall Trends for 2015

As a previous Starbucks employee, Fall was nearly NEVER enjoyable to me.  It always brought feelings of dread and anxiety and became synonymous with being drowned in an onslaught of Pumpkin Spice Lattes and freakishly early Christmas decorations.  It was just TOO MUCH!!  Don't get me wrong, it's not that I don't like the holidays, i'm just a little jaded.

After a long break from being on the hectic end of Fall festivities, I'm finally starting to come around.  The crisp air, the beautiful leaves, and the best part, NO MORE PUMPKIN SPICE LATTES (or PSL for Starbucks lingo).  This means I can actually focus on other things I enjoy, like fall trends and makeup instead of having flashbacks and panic attacks of how many beverages I have to make.  One time, I actually had someone throw a drink at me because it "didn't taste like skim milk" but that's another story for another post.  Ugh, I told you I had flashbacks!  Let's peek at some of my favorite looks of this season.  Onwards!!

The oversized Chunky Sweater

As a frequent thief of my boyfriend's sweater collection, I think I should just suck it up and buy a classic, oversized sweater in a neutral color that will last throughout the years.  This looks great in layered outfits or with jeans and leggings.  Love her messy bed head, too!

 The Faux Fur Stole

Ya know, these are really quite classic.  I love how these can completely change up a rather boring outfit and make it pop with an interesting texture and color.  You can do the brightly dyed ones or they also have more natural fur colors depending on your style.  I love the fact that these come around nearly every Autumn and Winter so buying one wouldn't be a waste of money for just one season of wear.  You can throw one over your shoulder, over a coat or jacket, toss one on top of a dress or just belt it at the bottom.  It's crazy how versatile these are!

Head to Toe Neutrals

I know you're not supposed to wear white after labor day and I'm not entirely sure why, but to me this just SCREAMS winter with sharp, clean light colors.  I love the dark accessories and nails to keep in interesting without being so blah.  The clash of textures and fits (fuzzy vs smooth, loose vs snug) make this interesting without it looking boring... you know, like a big bowl of plain oatmeal or something.

Animal Prints

So Animal print is also classic (notice a theme here?) so I do enjoy the fact that with the right accessories and simple outfit, the print can really stand out and make a statement without getting too Tarzan, King of the Jungle on ya.

Berry Stained Lips

I know we usually see some form of wine or dark cherry stained lips around the fall, so this updated ombre lip is sort of a remix of that.   I think this is great because it has more depth than a regular lipstick and it also lacks that certain harshness that's typical for darker shades.  She's keeping the rest of her face nice and clean and minimal so the lips can be the star of the show.

The Jet Black Lip

Black lipstick is having such a comeback right now!  I don't know If I could pull it off as well as this model, but you have to say, it's so interesting!  You would have to be careful with the outfit you pair with this as it could get pretty punk or witchy.  This is certainly not for the faint of heart, but it's very visually striking.

The Messy Cateye

This one is a little wild but I mostly wanted to show you the artistic effect used here. The imperfect, messy lines give her eyes a gorgeous shape and the smudgy appearance is beautiful.  I think this would be hard to pass off in real life, once again, but maybe with the right outfit...
