Tickled Pink

After Thanksgiving has come and gone, I keep on telling myself that tomorrow I will start eating healthy and exercising. Well, let me tell ya, breaking my own promise repeatedly has never tasted so good. Between all the jalepeño bacon mac and cheese I've been regularly consuming and those delicious baked goods pictured above, I'm pretty much ready to crawl into a cave and hibernate. This weekend, we visited Mr. Holmes bakery after several recommendations and oh my god... Look at that spread! I hear there are even more choices if you get there early enough, but Jake and I overslept and practically crawled there after late night (aka Netflix). I wanted so badly to take a cute picture of our chocolate croissant and danish but we practically took a deep breath and they completely vanished except for a few crumbs on our clothing. Whoops!

That being said, I wanted to wear something super comfy and flattering this weekend. In my mind, this black and white geometric sweater from Pink Martini would disguise all of my lumps and bumps like the camouflaging effect of zebra stripes in a herd and by god, I think it's worked! While we were waiting in line at Mr. Holmes, I got so many compliments that it was kind of obscene. I usually don't go for bold prints, but there was something about this sweater that I was really drawn to... Perhaps it was the price ($84) or the comfy knit? Either way I treated this baby like a neutral when I was getting ready and it went well with pretty much everything in my closet. I'm currently wearing it with black jeans and a white tee but I want to try to wear it over a dress next. Oh, the possibilities! My love for prints is coming back with vengeance!

Time to cuddle up with my matching black and white cat and enjoy the rest of this rainy day :) How's everyone's weekend going so far? Also, would you rock a geometric sweater like this? What would you wear it with? Thanks so much for reading!

  4. Oh, Rachel, these are absolutely stunning photographs and I'm not surprised you got an "obscene" amount of compliments; your ensemble is on point and that sweater is gorgeous! I'm not one for prints, honestly, but I think I may just dip my toe in the pool with geometric prints like this!

Also, your fur-baby is gorgeous! What's his/her name?

    1. You are the sweetest! Now i'm blushing and match the wall we photographed in front of haha! That makes me so happy that you like my outfit and yes, you should totally give prints another shot! You and I have very similar style most of the time and choose solids and layers, so it's soo funny that we are encouraging each other to wear otherwise normal things hahaha.
My Kitty's name is Carl! He's really pretty to look at but sometimes we think he's slow in the head lol I hope you're having a great weekend May!

--a way that I have been trying to be more healthy is juicing in the morning. I made an apple + orange juice + spinach leaves smoothie and I really think it has been helping me get the vitamins I need :3
